Hi I’ve been having a lot of trouble being motivated to actually work on bracelets... in my head I really want to but I just can’t get myself to sit down and work on them... I’ve had some fails recently 😂 but when I try easier ones I don’t finish... anything that helps you all?

I guess stop thinking about bracelets (like the finished product) as an end goal? Because there’s no point in forcing yourself to make a ton of bracelets but not enjoying the making process. Also, in hobbies there’s always ups and downs. Just take a break, relax a little, and maybe listen to some nice songs/ a movie while starting 🙂 You’ll get back the motivation soon, promise! ❤️ ❤️ |

Try finding some cute patterns that excite you and maybe try out a new technique. It can also be motivating to watch bracelet related videos like string hauls, knot with mes, making patterns off my friend’s to-dos, etc. Here’s a tutorial on braceletbook with some techniques you can try out as well https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/129_new-techniques-to-try-out/

It also helps me to just always have the bracelet I’m working on out. Then if I start watching my iPad, I see “Oh my bracelet, I should work on it”. Also don’t try to make yourself so it. But if you are bored then it is always a good and productive idea

Hi @Belle0812! Usually, when I start to go into a bracelet slump, I look at a bunch of pictures people have in their accounts. If there is a certain person on the site that has amazing pictures that you find inspiring, go look at their pictures! Studying their knots, and maybe watching their videos (if they have any) really helps me get motivated. I hope this helps, happy knotting! 😊- @Crafty_K |

For me, whenever I get new supplies, I always want to do it right away. I would maybe get myself new supplies every now and then to give you something to look forward to.

One thing that helps me is listening to music, but I have this problem too. I try to only start bracelets if I had a lot of time, otherwise I lose motivation over time.

This issue is very relatable! It is perfectly fine to take a break if you want one. Sometimes we just need a break and we deserve it! Don't put too much pressure on yourself and remind yourself that you are supposed to be having fun. I usually watch tv or listen to audiobooks while making my bracelets. Good luck!

I love to get more string or something to know onto (dowels for wallhangings, keyrings, d-rings, etc) if I can. It opens up so many new possibilities and I get very motivated to make new things with the materials. Now not everyone can do this every slump they are in but when I am (which is a rare occasion 😂), it helps a bunch! An alternative is to use something around the house if you cant go out and buy something (maybe some yarn, sewing thread, floss(?)) and try to make something out of that. Hope you become motivated again soon! 💕🙂
