ok so i hosted a challenge a few weeks ago and there was a prize for it. i messaged the winner and i tagged them in the actual challenge too. i still haven’t heard back from the winner and it’s been 3 weeks now. idk if they just don’t look at notifications or if they’re not on bracelet book very often. also this was my first challenge that i’ve done so i don’t know if i should just give up on their prize or keep trying to reach out to them. if you have any idea what to do please help and reply to this topic! also i’m not going to mention who the user is because if they see this then i wouldn’t want to call them out.

What was the prize? If your making one of their patterns, then just make it and post a picture, then tell them in the comments it was their prize. If it’s a shoutout, then give them one in your bio. I’m not trying to be rude at all, but for some reason, I sounded really passive agressive even though I wasn’t trying to be 😂 😂. And this is just my opinion of what you should do, I’m not super experienced in hosting challenges or anything.

@oceanknot lol it’s ok. the prize was a custom pattern so i would need them to give me the dimensions, colors, and what they actually want on the pattern.

@danielle_3 Oh ok. In that case, I would suggest just giving them a final message saying that they can message you back once they know what they want. If they don’t respond, then there isn’t much you can do. Don’t give up on the prize though because they did technically win it, so if they do message you about it, even if it’s 1 month later, then you can make them a pattern then. 😄

If the winner has any of their social media accounts listed in their bio you could try to reach them through there. If not then I agree with oceanknot. Send them one last message and then wait for them to respond.

Hi! I’m sorry to bother you, but I noticed on your bio you mentioned that people you knew have been hacked before. Was that on braceletbook or on other social media sites? I don’t accept all friend requests either, but that’s mostly because I like to only friend people who I’ve talked to before on this website. I know that you never know who you’re talking to online, but your friends have the same access to your account/profile as anyone else. Braceletbook is the only “social media” I have, but I always thought of it to be pretty safe because they only ask for your email when signing up. I’m really not trying to convince you to do something you’re not comfortable with, and I hope I don’t come off that way, but I was just wondering because I was also reluctant to making friends on braceletbook when I first joined.

@oceanknot it didn't happen on braceletbook but i am comfortable with it. my parents are not so i don't want to do something that they aren't comfortable with. i trust bracelet book and i know it is a pretty safe platform but it's essentially like i have a private account on here except you can still see my patterns and stuff. i do wish i could accept them because it would be fun to friend people but maybe later i can convince my parents.

Oh ok. The only reason I accept some friend requests is because everyone can see your photos and patterns anyways, so it doesn’t really matter. I just don’t feel comfortable saying how old I am, my name, my country, etc in my bio. I try to think of friends on braceletbook as someone that I know, not in real life, but on the website. When I go through my friends list, I can see all the people I’ve interacted with. I want to be able to look through my friends and know exactly why I friended them, like if they joined my challenge or if I joined theirs, or they helped me in a forum. I don’t accept everyone’s friend requests because that would kind of defeat the purpose of the feature even being there. It’s like putting every single pattern on the website in your to-dos even if you never plan on making them.

Personally I would tag them one more time in the challenge with a notice like “hey it’s been 3 weeks so you have 1 week to collect your prize or I’ll have to pick someone else” you could sent that via message as well or both, you could also give them more or less time, it’s up to you!
