Ive been trying 2 weeks to make one of these bracelets, and cannot figure out why the design ends up looking stretched out. The only way I can explain it is it seems like every knot is 1.5 knots tall. I've tried using a ruler to push my rows closer together but they don't move. Suggestions?

I would say that make sure the strings you are using are the same width, and with the base strings all being the same width, try to pull your knots tight (tight so that they aren't as long, but not so that the bracelet bubbles) and try pushing it with the ruler like you said, sometimes the patterns do just elongate and there isn't really a reason why

you could watch some youtubers like masha knots, kinsey b, and alex innovation, it could help to watch someone else do it

I think that your alphas may look stretch out because your knots are too lose. Try tying the knots tighter and let me know if you are still having trouble.

Yeah I have the same problem. Maybe the knots are too lose.

If you're worried about your rows being too far apart, or that your knots are too tight, make sure when you make the first half of the knot that it's pushed up as far as it can go, that way it's already where it needs to be and you shouldn't get row gaps even with tight knots, and you just do the second half like you normally would. If your knot is tied sooner in the row then it should be, that will definitely cause the gaps, which is why making sure with the first half of the knot is in its proper place is important

I would make sure that when you do the first half of the knot, make sure to push it up then to get it to the exact place you want it. Then do the second half of the knot right on top securing it in place. Make sure that all the strings are the same width or everything will come out unevenly. Hope this helped. 🙂
