How do you switch colors on an alpha. Also how do I get good at alphas. I see other people’s and they look so good. I really want to get that good. Are there any easy alpha patterns? Do you guys have any video recommendations? Sorry if I spelled stuff wrong. If there are any easy alpha patters can you plz let me know and give me the number. I am not really a beginner. I just do a lot of regular patters. Sorry that this was really long by the way. Oh and how do you switch colors on an alpha. Can I you let me know. And how do you switch you leading string on an alpha. I love to make bracelets. Can you please answer all of my questions. That would really help. Thank you -Sprinkles1

Hello! It is kind of hard to explain, in a forum post, but Megan Morris on youtube, ( @Margaron on bb) has great videos that can help! She is one of my favorite bracelet creators and her videos are very easy to follow. As for actually learning how. to geet better, practice! I always hate getting that advice as it is quite trite, but it really is the key! I would start with small 2 toned alphas!. This is just to get used to the way you need to move your strings. When teaching friends, I always have them start out just knitting a bracelet in a single color just to get used to the forward and backward knots. As for good beginner patterns, I suggest :

As for pictures, once you finish a bracelet you can upload it on the app by hitting the + on the orange bar! If you are on a computer, just click add photo. Srry for all of the spelling issues, spell check is not my friend lol

Check out Masha Knots video on the flat alpha technic for help. Because you are struggling with alphas, I recommend you make alphas that only require two colors until you become comfortable with them.

For switching colors on an alpha, its quite simple. If you're not doing the tucking technique, all you have to do is put the previous color you were using behind the bracelet so it doesn't show, and then make a knot with the next color you want on the string that says so for the pattern! The tucking technique is a lot more complicated, so I wouldn't recommend that right away. If you need help grounding it, make sure you tape down the next string before you make the knot so it doesn't go anywhere. If you're switching back to a color you already have, take the color from behind and make a knot like you normally would, but make sure you don't try to bring the string over the bracelet, you still want it under or else your bracelet will look funky.

For getting good at alphas, you need to practice!!! I'm doing my first alpha right now for a gift, and I've been keeping a tutorial up for me to follow, so that if i get lost or forget what I'm doing, I can refer back to the video. If you look for any of the people with Bracelet King status or a moderator, a lot of them have youtube channels that you can check out that will help out a lot!! I recommend Masha Knots, she's the one I always go to for any of my bracelet needs. She has a video up for just about anything! She has a lot of tutorials based off alphas, so if you just type "Masha Knots alpha" all of her videos over alphas should pop up. If you don't like her, there are many more out there!! You'll just have to take the time to find someone you like.
