I don’t know the correct way to do a color switch on the edge of an alpha bracelet. For example if finish row 5 with a white string, how do I start row 6 with a blue string? I’m not sure how to do it with the straight edges technique which is what I do. I can’t find any tutorials on YouTube or anything. If someone could give me a detailed explanation of how to do it that would be great😊. Or the title of a video that tells me!

For a situation like that, I just ignore the straight edges technique and do a backward or forward knot depending on the side. I then tuck it under the bracelet tightly so when it is next used it doesn't look messy. When starting on the new row (so based on your example row 6) do a forward-backward knot or a backward-forward knot, depending on the side, by coming up from in-between the two and doing the knot on the edge base string. Sorry if this is a bit confusing, tag me if you need more help. Also, if you look in my photos, the strawberry bracelet used this technique and it turned out quite well.

Masha Knots has a tutorial on this! If you go in at the 19 min mark, she shows you how to tuck the string in an alpha on the edge so it doesn't pop out when you go to do the next row

For the straight edges technique you always do TWO bf or fb knots right after each other because you replace both the first and the last knot of each row. The first fb or bf knot you do in the colour of the last knot of the previous row and the second fb or bf knot you do in the colour of the first knot of the next row.
