I’m running low on string (and money lol) and I was wondering if you could mix craft cord and embroidery floss together. My craft cord is from Michaels (loops and threads brand) and all I can find on Amazon is embroidery floss packs. Thank you whoever can help me!

I heard that you shouldn’t or else it will mess up the bracelet, but I’m not sure

If the thickness and overall consistency is very similar you can mix it but it might lead to some uneven parts especially in alphas.

I've done it before. It got a little annoying because the craft cords was bigger than the embroidery thread but I made it work.

I would try to stick to a string of the same thickness and texture for the appearance!

I’ve heard that it’s fine for normal bracelets, but if you mix them for alphas it can be uneven.

I think mixing them together works better on normals but if you wanna do them with alphas make the craftcord the base strings

It doesn´t matter as long as its a normal pattern, but if its an alpha it has to be the same thickness, so for alphas just stick to thread thats the same brand.

If its about the same thickness it should work. It may look wonky in alphas because having the same string is key in alphas. I used to use different types of string and it worked fine, but didn't give me the best results.

I used craft cord and embroidery floss for one bracelet and I didn’t like it. My knots with the craft cord were smaller and it didn’t look how I wanted to.

for a normal it would probably be fine.but for a alpha it would be fine only if both the embroidery floss and craft cord is consistent and one isn't thicker than the other. ❤️ 🙂 😊hope this helps

I use both and I don’t see a problem with it I’ve made alphas with them together and they turned out really well if you go on my page there is a photo of an alpha I did with both the brown is embroidery string and the white is craft cord-Natalia

I think it depends what your making. If you are making a normal bracelet i don’t think it would a problem. But if you are making an alpha I think it would be more noticeable idk if anyone else has already helped you but I hope this helps you ❤️😁

i’ve used the two together a lot in my recent bracelets since i got black and white craft cord type thread in bulk, and haven’t really seen that big of an issue. the craft cord i got is even a little smaller than the embroidery thread but by making the knots a little bigger or smaller depending on the one im knotting with makes it even. also, i use the combination in normals and alphas and didn’t find it to be too much of a problem for either 🎮🧃🛹

It all depends on the string. I use craftcord for my alpha base strings and use embroidery floss for my knots and I think that it looks fine.
