So I've been wanting to make an alpha with a flat top but when I tape mine down some strings slip out from the tape. I was gonna try a dowel but idk how to hold that down either 😅

If you are making a flat top, I think it is kind of difficult at first. Pull the base strings on really tight and they will stay, and tape down both sides of the dowel/string.

I sometimes use a clipboard. But I also use take and a table! If my bracelet has a teardrop loop, then I put some string through it and then tape down the string so that the bracelet can have some more freedom and it makes it easier to knot! Happy knotting! |

You can use a clipboard! I use them all the time or you could use a paper clip on a pillow if you do a teardrop loop!

i use a clipboard and i tape it down as a go. so if i do 5 rows and my alpha has gotten bigger then i will put more tape on so it stops moving. just regular clear tape usually works well for me.

Sometimes I use a clipboard but most of the time I use tape and a mini table. I try to tape the base strings down very firmly and when I am on my first few rows I press down on the tape so the base strings don't slip out. I stop doing that after 10 or 15 rows when the base strings are secure, and I always use the flat alpha method so the base strings AND the leading strings are secure. I would also suggest not pulling very tightly or yanking the thread because that will pull the base strings down. Keep your knots light but firm 🙂 😉

I use a clipboard! But sometimes if I'm making something with a loop, i use a safety pin and a pillow

The best way is to use a clipboard but here are some others that are also great for holding your bracelets.-taping in down to a table -using a safety pin and attaching it to a pillow - this one isn't that sanitary but it works too, putting the loop on your pinky toe then leaning over it -I use clamps to attach it to my water bottle loop as well as thin tables cardboard just really anything it will fit onto |

If you are doing a flat top and want to use tape, just make an overhand knot, then spread out the strings and put the tape over that. Hope this helps!

i secure the beginning end of my bracelets under a mason jar lid, it stays put and doesn’t cause any pilling (where the thread gets fluffy) 🎧📀🛹🧃
