So I've been seeing pictures with a hole in the bookmark. How do you make that hole? I'm not allowed to watch YouTube except to listen to music...

Ok, so I saw a video tutorial on youtube, and I will try to explaining it to you. First, cut one string about 1-2 feet long and tape it to a desk or hard surface. Then Cut the number of base strings that you need. Then do a Lark's Head Knot onto the string that you tape down. Kind of like how you would do to a wall hanging. There is a tutorial here made by @PotatoPeel for the Lark's Head Knot. After you finish putting all you base string on the string that you taped down, make one row with your lead string. After making one row, leave 6 strings in the middle and don't make knots on them. After that You are going to need one more leading string. Then make 2 rows on each side of the 6 strings. Make 2 rows one side with the lead string you already have and 2 rows on the second side with a new lead string. Make sure that you didn't make any knots on those 6 strings. Then divide the 6 strings in the middle into 3 strings on each side. Take the top 2 strings from the left side and with the second string make a forward-backward knot. After that take the third string from the left side and make a forward-backward knot over both of the other strings that you made a knot. Then take one base strings from the left side and make a forward-backward knot over the other 3 strings. then put the string that you just made a knot on to left because you are not going to make a knot on it for the loop. Then go to the right side and do the same thing but make backward-forward knots and put the string that you made the last knot with to the right. After you finish 4 knots on both sides, take the 3 strings on the right side and make backward-forward knots going out until you have one string left. then do the same thing for the left side but with forward-backward knots. You can see that the knots and string are moving into a circle shape. then make a forward knot with the two strings in the middle. then make the first row on the right side and include the first string from the loop but not the others. Then do the same with the next 3 rows. For the left side do the first 3 rows like you did on the right side but don't do the 4th row with the lead string that you're using. Put the lead string that you're using for the left side behind the bookmark. Use the lead string that you used for the right side to finish making the knots for that row. After that you can just make the bookmark or bracelet. I hope I was able to help. |

Sorry, but I forgot something. After you are done with the loop, undo the tape and glue the string that you made the Lark's Head knots onto the bookmark or bracelet's back. Anyways I hoped I helped . |
