so I made #147 with the avocado colors and it turned out all curvy and funky... I do knot kinda tight but I've never had this problem before so I'm unsure of what happened... can anyone give me some advice? should I use the straight edge technique? or is there another variation of this pattern that won't make it so wacky?

thanks so much!

also for example it kinda looks like this / \ / \ / \ but a little less extreme lol

I would use the straight edge technique, and make sure that the string is all the same width.

If you do the straight edges technique you need to add an extra string at the edges and make knots onto it with the strings that where originally on the edge, bf knots on the left and fb knots on the right. But it is not the ultimate solution. It helps, but the bracelet can still turn out wavy.

The reason why this particular pattern turned wavy is that it switches between big parts of f knots and big parts of b knots. In parts with f knots many tend to pull the bracelet to the right and in parts with b knots to the left. This is what leads to the wavy structure. You can avoid it by always trying to pull the string onto which you are knotting straight down instead of pulling it to either side. This should help.

this happens a lot for me when I make the watermelon pattern along with others I recently started actually using the straight edges technique and it helps.
