Hi! When you do the evil eye technique with 10 strings normally what do you pair them into? EX: 5 pairs of 2 strings

Alex Innovations has a video in which she explains how to do the alpha pattern #49390 which has 12 base strings

You would always group the base strings together at the edge. So if you would like to make the small part 4 knots wide you would knot over 4, 1, 1 and 4 base strings at once.

There also are some normal evil eye patterns. Some of them might have 10 strings
