I usually get embroidery thread of the brand Mira crafts off of amazon. I also use the brand loops and threads, you can buy these at Micheals online. I've tried the brand pilley once and I liked it but it's not for me, they tend to produce bigger knots. I know most people use DMC embroidery thread but I've never personally used it before since its on the more expensive side. But I have heard that DMC is a good brand.

I personally buy amazon and AliExpress strings but these do tend to produce bigger knots as the previous person mentioned. DMC is pricy but sometimes on eBay it’s listed for a fairly low price so I check there for that. Mynotions is a good site for buying Sullivan’s individual colors for around half the price of DMC and I like the quality of those strings as well

Amazon all the way! It’s so affordable and such good quality! The delivery is amazing and I get all my string from there. If you don’t want to support Jeff bezos id recommended shopping on Etsy. Etsy will take a little longer to ship and will be more expensive

dmc works like a charm! fuyit bulk bags are also pretty good. i have a fuyit bag from 2 years ago that i have not completely used up ❤️
