@Pony123 do you mean when designing a pattern in the pattern generator or when knotting a physical bracelet?

@Reagandsg practice, practice, practice!Start with a small pattern with not too many colour switches. To get a smoother result the flat alpha technique is really beneficial. If you are not familiar with it yet I recommend watching MashaKnots' video on it. Make sure that you don't pull the loose leading strings in the back too tight and also make sure that you are not knotting super tight in general. |

@kindcat I assume you know how to use a camera and want to know how you can post the pictures you've taken, right? To post a picture you go to the pattern you want to post a picture of and click the "add a photo" button. Then you select the photo you want to post. The photo gets submitted and a moderator reviews it and then either declines or accepts it. That might take some time. If you want to actual know about taking a photo you can watch MashaKnots' video "pattern to photo" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1lakJG-aZU |

@CAgymnast The process of shaped starts after loops is the same as the process of shaped starts after a regular tie like twisted ties or braids.

@valeb you have to go to the website (braceletbook.com) because you can't do it on the app. You click on your username on the top right and then on "create patterns".

@Lil_turtle I’m not totally sure, but I think i saw someone say that your entire phone/browser has to be out of dark mode (BraceletBook is just responding to what your phone said the setting is on)

@gilly it works like any other colour switchIf you're doing the flat alpha technique you have to ignore that now because you can only do a regular colour switch If you are doing the straight edges technique make sure you do Two fb or bf knots right after each other because you are replacing two knots (both the last knot and the first knot of each row). The first knot you do is your old colour and the second knot you do the new colour. I hope this helps. Maybe you could talk about more what exactly you don't understand. |

@gilly you make the first fb knot of the old colour and the second fb knot of the new colour. You don't use any specific technique for that.

I meant "while making a variation of a pattern"

@heerdmThat depends if you're making a variation for a normal pattern or an alpha. In an alpha variation you can only change the colours but not the amount of colours (no removing or adding colours) In a normal variation you can change both the colours and the amount of colours. To make the amount of colours less or more you have to change the letters in "colors order". If you want for example four colours you need to only use the first four letters of the alphabet. If you click safe now all other colours except these four colours will disappear. |

@Pony123 I'm still not entirely sure what you meanIf you mean in patterns like #18 where the strings in the beginning and in the end are in a different order you can't really stop that. You just continue in row 1 and ignore the colours but do the same knots as before. If your strings just get tangled for no particular reason I recommend to untangle them like you'd untangle long hair, starting at the bottom and working your way up to the top until you untangled everything. To avoid tangling make sure your strings are fanned out. Does any of this answer your question? |
