Try tying your knots a bit looser

One reason might be the string you are using. If you have craft cord, (twisted string) you might want to change to embroidery floss. Also, you also want to tie your knots looser. If all else fails, you can put some band aids or athletic tape on the part the string is cutting.

i’m not sure it’s really the type of string that you use, mostly just how tight you tie your knots. if you have a really hard grip on the string or knot a lot, then it could rub against your skin and make it all red. i’ve had the skin on my finger peel because of this, so i just put a bandage on my finger where i knot 🍁🌙🍂

I guess its because I wrap it around my finger to tight and then when I pull on the string it cuts me.

It used to hurt my finger as well. What I did was put a bandaid in that area so that the string is not rubbing against it. But I also realized I was knotting my strings too hard. But right now I would suggest wrapping it so that the string does not keep rubbing against the area!

I had the same problem, but the string didn't cut me, it was like minor rope burn and it just hurt in that area. I would suggest tying your knots just a little bit looser, because when you pull it taut, it rubs against your finger and hurts you.
Also, it depends on the type of string you are using. I used to use yarn, and it hurt a lot. I switched to embroidery floss and it was smoother and easier to use, and it definitely doesn't hurt.
If it still continues, I used to wrap a small strip of cloth over my finger or put a bandaid on
Hope this helped!
😛happy knotting😛

Hey, this happens to me all the time and it's sooooooooo annoying! I wrap medical tape around my fingers where they come in contact with the string and it helps a lot. Good luck!

I remember making bracelets for my school team and I gave them to the team before a game and one of the younger kids wanted me to cut off the string before the game but I didn't have scissors so I tried to snap it with my hand and I cut myself and didn't bother getting a band aid so I was bleeding the whole time, don't do what I did lol 😂

It might be the string, but it also might be the way you are holding the string. If it is wrapped around you finger as you pull up/to the side you might get a burn that feels like a cut.

i know this might hurt to say, since we are all diehard bracelet fans, but if you are getting injured while making bracelets, i really think you should cut down on the amount you make. i only make about 5-6 bracelets a month, and theres no pressure to make lots and lots at once, so take it easy! if you keep hurting yourself, its not gonna be fun anymore. ❤️
