I’m confused because everyone is saying to keep my extra scraps of string but what do I do with all of it?

use it in alphas. you can make rag rug bracelets, which alex innovations (on youtube) has a tutorial on. or just in regular alphas. if you have a bunch of different shades of blue, you can use them for the background of an alpha to give it an interesting look. you can pick out a selection of rainbow colors to make a rainbow background to your bracelet. or if you have a ton of black/white scraps, you can use them for the background of an alpha. obviously, for all of these examples, just add in a new string when you run out of the current one. another thing is you can use them in alphas when you only need a little bit of a color. check out claire_wears_spam on instagram. she has made quite a few bracelets with scrap string. she did a bee pattern with a collection of yellow scraps, a dolphin one with a bunch of blues, and has made quite a few rainbow bracelets using scrap string. there was also this earth pattern she made with a black background consisting of scrap threads. hope this helps.

Like @srhamy28 said save them for alphas! I have used scrap string for base string or the actual pattern. Also, I just don't like to waste string🙃

Rag rugs, the rainbow brick alpha, any pattern that doesn’t use to much of one colour in it. You could also use short strings as vase strings for a alpha keychain.

I used to throw all my scraps away, and when I got to alphas, i didn't want to cut out tiny strings from a skein. Save them for alphas and rag rugs. rag rugs are super cool with different combinations! good luck!

I save my string my scrap string for alpha base strings, I hate rag rugs(making them and the way they look) no offence to people who do like them but everyone has their own opinion and that is mine.

your scrap thread will probably add up really quickly, even if you dont make many bracelets. the first week i started saving my scraps, i could fill a small jar. you might want to sort it by brand, because if you are using it for alphas, all your strings should be of the same type and preferably from the same brand. try your best to sort your scraos by dmc, amazon... any brand or type. and if you really cant remember, take a good look at the structure of the thread ❤️
