other than making bracelets, keychains or wall hangings, is there a technique to make rings? i know you could knot all of your thread together but that would be big and inconvinient. Any ways for seamless or close to seamless?

There are some macrame ring tutorials on YouTube. I think most people use craft cord (I'm not entirely sure) for this and sort of melt the ends to make it seemless.

I've seen people make rings with embroidery floss and normal patterns. I think what they do is go through and cut the bracelet to a size that fits around their finger and then they stitch the two ends together. If it isn't rubbing against your skin, you could try to put some clear nail polish over the ends if you're worried about them fraying. (Be careful with that though because clear nail polish can hurt if it's right on your skin). It's not as clean as using waxed thread and melting the ends together as was mentioned in the other reply I'm sure, but I know it's a possibility if you don't have those materials. I've never made a ring before but let me know if you find something that works for you!

I made a ring once using the braided stitch pattern I just made a small portion of the pattern tied a knot on both ends and cut off the extra then i glue gunned it and it worked. Not the best method but it turned out nice.

you can make a bracelet( i would suggest a thin pattern) and once it fits your finger you can stitch the two ends
