I’m dumb, but I’ve been using patterns from other websites and these patterns seem complicated. I don’t understand how to read the pattern.

Hi I thought maybe I could ask on here so that if people stumble on it there’s an answer 😊I saw a lot of post asking how to make an alpha pattern on the website and are seeking advice other than look up a tutorial I was wondering if you could explain it |

@andrea_idk Which patterns? If you are talking about alpha arrows than I can help! But if it is normal patterns arrows, I'm not quite sure how to help you with those.

@bunny9 Well, this is very hard to explain but I will try as best as I can. First of all, alpha is very different from normal patterns. In normal patterns all strings come together to make a design but alphas are a bit different. They have base strings with a leading string that weaves back and fourth to make the design. 😄 To me they are much easier and better to understand, but that is just me. Anyway, If you are going from left to right make forward knots. If you are going from right to left make backward knots. If you are wanting to do this, than at the end of weaving left to right make two forward-backward knots. Remember to do two! 😄 At the end of weaving right to left make two backward-forward knots! This is so your edges come out nice and strait, but you don't have to do it. 😉 I hope this helps you out! if you are looking for more detail, visit Masha Knots for the color changes and how to do them! 😄

Hey I have a question. When I make my alphas the knots kinda look slanted depending in which way I'm going. How do I fix that?

@Bandgeeks64 Do you pull them super hard or really loose?

@Bandgeek69 I would just keep them looser but not to loose. I find it easier. 😄 Just remember to not keep them slanted. Try to keep it as strait as possible. I hope this helps!
