Anyone know why my bracelets keep getting wavy edges?

A few of my bracelets get these random waves/scallops in them. They're not bumpy. I use the straight edges technique most of the time. They're just wavy. I'm thinking it probably has something to do with inconsistent knot tension (as that's what most people cite as the problem for pretty much anything). But if there's any specific knot (or other factor) that makes this common I'd love to know so I can be on the lookout for it. I did use segment knotting for this bracelet so maybe that contributed too? Idk. Open to any/all suggestions.

i think your bracelets look amazing! Some patterns just do that and if you dont like it you can test out different knot tensions. ❤️

Most of my segment knot patterns have these slight bumps. I think that's just the pattern, or how tight you're pulling the knots. For example on your watermelon bracelet, the red fruit part has that slight bump and it could be because of the green pulling on the red, if that makes sense. I don't really know how to explain it but it might be normal with some patterns

yea it just really depends on the pattern and also knot tension. i think of myself as pretty good at bracelets, and i still get those wavy edges sometimes. you could try pulling on the places where there are indents to try and straighten it out more!

This sometimes happens because of the straight edges technique. I had made a bracelet with the straight edges technique for my friend, but it turned out bumpy. I remade the same pattern again twice and it turned out quite straight, the straight edges technique does not work well always, it depends on the knot structure of the pattern. Hope this helps!

That happened to a lot of my bracelets and still happens some times. I definitely fixed it a little bit by not making my knots as tight. if you tie your knots tight then that might have something to do with it. 😊
