Hi, I'm new to Braceletbook.com. I've only been making bracelets for a short time, but I've managed the Candy, Chevron and Distorted Chevron bracelets. Now I'd like to try to use one of the patterns you have.

My question is, do you have a formula to work out how much length of strings for each inch knotted per amount of strings used. Such as 5 colors = 10 strings, how much length per inch/cm would that take as opposed to 16 strings. For instance, A Chevron bracelet of 6" with loop 5 colors uses 64" of thread for 4 colors and 5th color 70". So if I were to make this with 8 colors, how would it affect the lengths needed?

My second question is: Do the patterns have names as well as the no. of the pattern? 🙈 🙂 ❤️

Thank you xx Jackie

@JjJackie Hi!! Welcome to bracelet book!! I don’t really use a specific formula, I generally just make them about half the length of my wingspan for bracelets with less than 10 strings and it works out for me!! For ones that are more than ten strings I generally add a few inches for every two strings that are added. To be honest, it really takes a lot of trial and error, because it depends on how much string one of your knots takes up, and it is different for everyone. But if you are in doubt about something being long enough, always add length! The patterns do not have names as well as their numbers, but it was suggested and I do think it would be a good idea!! I hope this helps you!! I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a specific formula, if I had one I’d be glad to give it to you! Also, thanks for your interest in my patterns!
