Hi guys
Just wanted to ask but when you’re making an alpha with the straight edge technique and there is a colour switch on the last knot of the row, how do I make it so there isn’t a string sticking out the side

Right at the edge you do a regular colour switch instead of the flat alpha colour switch.

I'm unsure what else you could mean but usually once you cut the ends of the strings on the back once you're done those shouldn't be sticking out anymore.

Also you need to make two bf or fb knots right after eachother at the edge because you are replacing two knots. Many people seem to forget that in the beginning.

A way to make sure the color doesn’t stick out is to find another color switch one the back of the bracelet when you are done. Then, tuck the loose string under the loop from the color switch. After you do that tie the string so it doesn’t pop out. Message me if you need more help

You kinda just have to tuck it inwards if that makes sense? Like push it towards the middle of the bracelet

hi! I just finished #57147 and here's an example with that pattern.
you need to switch from orange to yellow on the edge, so if you were knotting backward knots to the left, here's how it would go:\

you would take the old lead string (orange) and put it next to the last base string you need to knot on. then you bring the new lead string (yellow) OVER the old lead string (orange). now for the straight edge technique, you would do a backward knot over the old lead string but knot onto the last base string, then a forward knot again on the last base string.

by then you could pull the old lead string around to the back of the bracelet like usual.

idk if that helped but Masha Knots has a great tutorial on making flat alpha bracelets that has this technique in it, and I also have a tutorial on my channel 😊

Masha Knots has a video called the flat alpha technique. If you go a little back, then you will be able to find how to do it.
