i can try to explain here, but masha knots has an in-depth tutorial! i'd say for your first alpha, cut how ever many base strings are in the pattern, lay them out (separate from eachother but close enough to be knotted together) and secure it with a piece of tape; making sure they won't slip from under the tape when you knot. the reason i recommend this is so you can practice; if you make a mistake and or don't like the outcome, you didn't waste time on a fancy loop! then cut your background color/leading string and tape it to the left or right of your working space (depending if you're more comfortable with backwards or forwards knots). it's pretty simple, all you need to do is knot the leading string onto your first base string like you would if you were in a regular bracelet. once you have knotted across one row, after doing your forward knots on the last string, do backward knots on that same one, and go across your base strings as you would but with backward knots! make sure to be extra careful on the first few since you're just getting started with the bracelet and the base strings are prone to slip out. the tape, if in a straight line will ensure you're knotting in a straight line and your strings are secure

The simplest way would be taping all basestrings down so they're all next to each other. You tape the working string down on the left of the taped down basestrings. Then you start knotting row by row. The first row is f knots from the left to the right. The second row is b knots from the right to the left of the bracelet. You continue doing that row by row.

If you have to do a knot of a different colour you have to do a colour switch because you need a new leading string. Tape the new leading string down besides the bracelet and do a colour switch. There are two options to do colour switches: the regular colour switch and the flat alpha colour switch. The flat alpha colour switch leads to cleaner looking bracelets but you can do either. MashaKnots has videos on both.
