Like if you find a photo and say take a screenshot from a site and design the patter based off it.

I have done this with pixel art & other art and the "make alpha from image" feature. This is also helpful if you want to make 2 versions of the same alpha; you can screenshot the first one and use it to make a second alpha from that screenshot. (The alpha patterns I have submitted are all my own art though, I don't submit patterns that are not my originals)

It would be easier to design an alpha pattern rated than a normal pattern. With normal patterns it’s harder to see how many colors of each string you need as well as the placement of each string.
