That's a quote from the FAQ. I THINK that to go from 12 to 123 you need at least 3 bracelet photos submitted and accepted. The higher ranks are probably from involvement in the forum, chat and submitting and/or rating patterns. You could always look at higher ranks than yourself and figure out what they've done more than you on their profiles to figure out what you would have to do next. I don't know that there is any real benefits to being a higher rank though, so it probably doesn't even matter...

Just be really active on the site, make friends, patterns, post photos, etc. Even rating patterns helps as well.
