Not at all. You might be using crochet yarn many people do and I’ve seen people use the thicker yarn that is pretty thin when knitting but is too thick for regular bracelets. Thicker yarns might not be the best idea for friendship bracelets but there are thinner yarns that many people use which are really nice. And as long as you aren’t mixing really thin and really thick yarn using yarn is perfectly fine because yarn can be the same size as embroidery thread and isn’t embroidery thread technically yarn in itself?

@2006_Mandy thanks! People on bracelets book and Instagram are telling me to use embroidery floss because yarn isn’t the best thing ever. I have to drive 10 mins to the craft store just to get some DMC! DMC is literally the only company I can buy embroidery floss. I mean there’s amazon but I wanna pick my own colors!!!

I’d reccomend getting crochet thread or getting white crochet thread and dying them the colours you want. Most threads come in packs and it’s way cheaper. I’d suggest you start by getting at least a pack with all of the basic colours and then getting individual skeins.
