I have been searching everywhere and there is no real "formula" to determine length. I know the suggested is 65-70 inches but for larger bracelets would this still be the same? I know length is determined by the # of knots so I would assume it would still be that same length?

What I do is I cut the string 30 inches per 1 string so I don't do the knot that forms in the middle

I think about twelve knots is one inch of string (I could be wrong)

I measure my strings by standing in the shape of a t and go across my arms ( not really sure how to describe this) and if I'm making a smaller bracelet I usually have extra strong which I reuse for another bracelet and u won't have to go throught the whole process again

There is a forum topic about the formula. It's kinda complicated so I just estimate but if u can figure it out some people said it worked.

In the "Other" section there is a forum topic called "Normal Pattern formula to find the perfect string length". The string length formula is in there

I just wing it to be honest. Only once my strings were too short, but the bracelet was already long enough for my friend, so I gave it to her.

I do my both my arms length and gold it in half but some times I run out of string and have to tie more in

I made string formula a while back and it definitely does work but it's long so for what it's worth I don't ever actually use it.... I hold the loose end in one hand and pull the string across my body if I know the patter will take more of a certain colour I add an arms length more
