Hi guys, I'm pretty knowledgeable on how to make normal bracelets and I've always wanted to try making an Alpha. Do you guys have any suggestions on what my first Alpha should be?

Any alpha pattern that has only two colors and no more than 20ish base strings would be good for a first alpha

I'd recommend any pattern without too many colours or colour switches, #40359 #38672 and #36093 are perfect because they give you a chance to practice the knotting technique before having to change the colours. I think you will find alphas easy if you are already confident with normals.

i recommend a alpha with only 2 colors, but less than 10 strings something like #24784 or #34178

I just started my own first alpha, and it was #51356. I am almost done with the first panda (I started yesterday).

You should try just simple patterns limit your self to 15 strings simce if you mess up you didn’t waste too many strings. But you should stick to ones that don’t have to many color switches

I'd recommend a two-tone pattern that is either 20 strings or under. Not too many rows either. Good luck! 🙂

My first alpha was big and I did ok. I recommend a small 2 maybe 3 color pattern just so you can get the feel of changing leading strings!!❤️❤️

I recommend making your knots on your alpha way looser than the knots on your normal pattern. I realized that that makes your bracelet way neater. Tie your knots very lightly and you will see the difference. I used to tie my knots very tight and would not understand why my bracelet was bumpy even when using the flat alpha technique. Loosening up made my bracelets waaaaaay better. Good luck 👍 I hope this helps. And thank you guys for making my panda pattern. 🙂

I did #7488 as my first alpha bracelet which was good because it was only 2 colors with less than 10 base strings.

I think the first alpha you should start with shouldn’t have too many color and not too many base strings (I know that’s what everyone’s saying but I don’t know how else to start my sentence 😂) you could try and do a letter bracelet.

For my first alpha, I didn’t follow a pattern and just freestyled. I found it easier to get to grips with the method and colour changes!
