I have a TON of bracelet book to-dos that i think are so pretty and i really want to get to them. 1- i need different methods of adding colors to alphas! 2- when i make alphas both the back AND front are ugly and twisted. 3- normal patterns. i learned how to make them first, but they never turn out right. the pattern might shift over a knot or i might miss one when i already did every knot in the row. So if you know how to fix these problems please help! 🤔

1. The best way (in my opinion) to add colors in alphas is using the flat alpha technique. Here’s a video of it: https://youtu.be/_YVFAX9sacw

2. The flat alpha technique may help you with this but one of the best things to do is just practice. I know you probably don’t want to hear that lol but it’s true, I’ve been making alphas for a while now and have improved sooo much

3. This one kinda comes down to practice too. You could work on making your knots consistent which will help the bracelet look nicer. Also if you notice something going wrong try and fix it as soon as possible because it won’t go away if you don’t fix it. Sorry I didn’t really have more specific tips, but hopefully this is helpful (:

For 3 use segment knotting! This helped me so much when making normal patterns! I hope this helps! 🙂

The flat alpha technique with help you with both of your two problems and also practice . @Racoon has a tutorial on her channel (masha_knots) for this technique . To improve your normal patterns you can try segment knotting . Masha_knots also has a tutorial.I would recommend watching tutorial to get better at segment knotting so to can see how other people group their knots

you take the string you want to make a color of and the one you're knotting onto. put the string you are making the color out of over top of the other in a 4 shape. pull the colored string through the middle of the four. make sure your other string is held tight. now pull the knot you made up and adjust the tightness (that's how i learned)
