It’s known as one of the most high quality string companies, which makes it more valuable for customers. It’s also one of the only companies that sells individual skeins at mainstream stores, which gives them more ability to raise the price. Personally, I like using bulk packs, but when I need a lot of one color, I always go to DMC. As long as people buy it, a high quality product usually goes along with a high price.

Like @22graffeod said, DMC is very high quality and can be bought in individual skeins. DMC also has a wide variety of colors so if you’re looking for a very specific color DMC probably has it.

DMC can be found at many craft stores around the U.S. and is pretty common. It is expensive because it high-quality and holds up well. It is quality over quantity. If you are looking for a cheaper but still good option, consider prism, loops and threads, or j&p coats. They usually come in packs (an average of 36 skeins but some have more and some have less) and are great for making bracelets. They are not the best quality compared to dmc but they are still great. Those are Quantity over quality. Hope this helps to explain 🙂

It’s one of the quality brands that won’t snap easily. And of those quality brands, it’s probably the softest and has some of the best colors. But honestly I go with Loops & Threads for most of my thread because it’s cheaper and there’s still a lot of color variety

dmc is one of the best quality brands of thread out there- it’s really easy to work with and comes in a large variety of colors. personally, i use thread that i find at craft stores like michaels because i don’t really have a problem with it. there are also big packs on amazon that you can buy that come in a large variety of colors

it’s High quality and thicker and softer. They tend to break less but I have a 100 pack from amazon and they work just fine! I haven’t had one break on me and I do super tight knots! I’ve tried dmc, loops and thread, iris, and other brands from walmart! They all work just fine! I’d say go for the cheapest!
