Already responded to your question but for other people to see to answer the question in general you need to rank up by being active and contributing to braceletbook (rating, comment, creating patterns, adding to forum, etc)

I meant to say that you need to be advanced as already said but that to become advance you need to rank up and those are some ways to rank up. Once you do rank up there will be an add friend button on peoples profile but you still can accept friend requests
