hey everyone!! i hope everyone is doing well!
so i recently started to make name bracelets. they’re not necessarily alphas because i’m using the base strings as the colors of the letters, and just one leading string. therefore i’m not doing ‘color switches’ - i’m knotting with the base string.
however, i’ve noticed the knots aren’t as tight as i’m pulling and they tend to hang leaving space between a row. is there a certain way i should be pulling the strings? i hope this made sense!
thank you!!!

Hey!! I have this issue all the time! Sometimes it helps if I pull the first knot snug and then make sure to keep it tight when I knot the second one. That usually helps me. ☺️

there are two parts to a knot. to make the knot tighter, tie the first part of it tightly, then let the second part of the knot be securing it. use the same tension for all your knots so they are all even and the bracelet looks uniform 🍓💌🎡🎠

Hi! I actually just finished a name bracelet like 10 mins ago. Anyway, I used to do my name bracelets that way and they always turned out how you said, kinda wonky and too loose and too tight at the same time. I started recently doing them like regular alphas instead, using a separate string (that isn’t the base strings) for the letters, because then the rows are more even and they turn out way less wonky. It’s worked for me pretty well so maybe you should try that? That’s all I know. If you wanna stick with your technique, I’d say just try and make sure you’re pulling all your knots the same tightness, but doing it that way will result in wonkiness because the knots in a row won’t all be the same height. Does that make sense?
