So basically to cross stitch you need embroidery floss and cloth. Technically speaking you can cross stitch on anything if you can keep your stitches all the same size but they sell stuff called Aida cloth and you can buy it at walmart, Michael's basically any craft store in the aisle with the embroidery floss. You'll want an embroidery needle as well.

Didn't mean to send that yet... Once you have your supplies you need to find the pattern you want to use. If you're just starting out I wouldn't recommend a big pattern as it is time consuming and you will probably get frustrated at some point.

Cut your fabric to the size you need and figure out where you want to start in your pattern I suggest going section by section. Now you need to split your embroidery floss, you will be using the threads within it. I split to two strings some people split to three it's all preference. Once you have your needle threaded and you know where to start you're going to come up through a hole and with your fingers hold the loose string against the back so it doesn't come through. Go to the hole diagonally from it. You have half of a cross stitch. Now when you go back up, move the loose string so it will be trapped by the back of the stitch you're making. You may still need to hold it for a little longer so it won't come through. Now your going to cross over the stitch you first made to create your x. Voila! A cross stitch! Some other tips: 1)to tie off your string simply weave it through the back of your finished stitches. 2) try not to skip more than two 'boxes'. Skipping more leave long loops at the back for things to snag on, this can snap your string and wreck your work. 3) start all new strings as you did your first. Hope this helps!

@Mermaid12 yes, I could probably make one, it might take me a bit though due to the fact that I don't have a charger for my camera at the moment. Would you be terribly upset if it was a youtube video? @Fliparz is that your cat in the avatar? IT'S ADORABLE! |

@Margaron Naw, I wouldn't be terribly upset. Whatever you want to do is fine, I just need a visual of how to do it ๐
