i put duck tape strips on it so when i'm making alphas and i need to attach a color i just rip a piece off, this is good for when you forget to take tape when you in a rush
also always have a safety pin attached to you clipboard you can secure it with sting or whatever come in handy 😊

If you're knotting in bed or sitting down without a desk, it helps to sit cross-legged and stick the end of the clipboard under your legs in front of you to keep it stable. I don't know how other people use their clipboards, that's just how I do it. I find that if I just set my clipboard on a table or something it moves around while I'm working.

I like to take my sharpies mainly black and silver and create pieces of art that are simple on my clipboards like making a border or adding little designs. I always keep a safety pin in the circle part of the clip and when adding my new leading string I generally will loosely tie my strings onto make several knots of my alpha and then I unknot it and cut off the excess for rag rugs. I love to use my clip board and if I don't add a design I will paint them. I have seen people that randomly doodle on theirs too that may be fun for when you get board. I also suggest getting a mini clipboard it comes in handy for car trips and such! 😇

Whenever I use a clipboard I put tape on the clock so it doesn’t push the bracelet down

When I use a clipboard I usually sit against a wall and sit with my knees up, balancing the clipboard on my knees. If you are doing an alpha, you could clip the other colours you are using under a separate bit of the clipboard to keep them where you can get to them, even before you actually need to use them.

Some clip boards have that attachment that’s like a little metal rod (pretty thin) with a little bent bit in the center. If that makes sense? Those ones are also usually smaller and “cuter”. DONT USE THOSE! They don’t keep it secure! Use the bigger ones that are usually brown and have a big metal clip. They’re more secure, even when your knots are tight. Idk if that made much sense? But that’s my advice to you

If the metal clip part is very thin, I recommend putting a piece of tape over the part that actually goes onto the board part of the clipboard (if that makes sense haha). This will keep it from cutting your thread. I’ve never had that happen to me, but I’ve heard that it can happen. Also, if your bracelet is slipping a lot, instead of using a clipboard, you can use a binder clip and a thin hardcover book. It’s kind of like a makeshift clipboard, but in my experience, it’s much more secure

@grod @chkntaters @2006_Mandy @yaz_zie @Guitar123 @AkreylaG @jetsa_124 @madeleine_ thank you all so much!!!! one more question: can you make wall hangings on clipboards? because if you’re starting it and it’s all the way at the top, how do you pull your knots all the way through without bumping into the clip part of the clipboard? idk if that makes sense but if it does, please answer! 💕

For alphas I flip the clipboard around and use some tape and once I do a few rows I turn it around and then put the bracelet under the clip and then use that tape for when I start to attach other colors...and at the top of mine I has a little hole to like hang it on the wall or something and I put a safety pin to it and keep it their so when I make a mistake I have something to use to undo it.

It might be best to start it on tape (so you don’t hit your hands) and then move it to the clipboard! However if you are knotting slowly, you shouldn’t hit it if you’re careful

I use binder clips because they can be reused, sometimes I use tape in the beginning. I just put my bracelet on the clipboard and clip it on.

Idk how to use clip boards but you can use a paper clip if your doing a loop or if you figure out how to use one on a twisted end

What I usually do when I am starting a bracelet I turn my clipboard over and use a regular clip to secure my strings but after I do like 1/3 of the pattern then I just attach it to the clip of the top of the clipboard if that makes sense.
