To increase your rank, just be active on the site/app. Post in the Chat and Forums, submit patterns/variations, submit photos, rate patterns, and earn rewards for Official Challenges (in the Challenges forum). Increasing your rank get exponentially harder after each level. So it is harder to rank from Advanced to Skiller than it is Beginner to Advanced.
@sarra_ayed 'keychain' 'bookmark' and 'wallhanging' are not acceptable for NORMAL patterns because normal patterns can be any length. You just repeat the pattern until it is the length you want. Alpha patterns have specific dimensions.
