is a forward-backward know just making a forward knot first and then a backward one? And do we do the forward knot for it twice and the backwards twice as well?

@meganlcx it’s the first half, so not two whole knots, but basically.

So for the forwards backwards and the backwards forwards, is it two knots? So like doing a forward then backward or
Vice versa.

I recommend to check out a video or tutorial on shaped bracelets @amvalente4
In patterns like this where there are knots left out, you can either leave loose strings or hide the loose strings in the edges. Let me know what you want to do and I can help you find a fitting video/tutorial.
Or is something else confusing about the pattern apart from it having left out knots?

@Zozie in a normal the 3 would be the amount of knots there are in a row and the 12 would be how many rows there are but you would repeat that pattern so your actual bracelet would have more rows. In a normal the 3 would be the amount of base strings and the 12 would be the amount of rows which again would be repeated to make the bracelet longer.

How do we read dimensions? If it says 3x12, what does that mean - which strings are 3 and which are 12?

Aloha 🤗🌸🤙🏼~this is so very helpful. Of course, after more coffee I will be able to retain more of what I just read. 😂 My sister loves butterflies 🦋and her birthday is in March. Seeing as I am “restarting” my hobby, your tutorial gives me much-needed guidance for practice. I cannot wait to have some “me time” to work through this. Mahalo! 😎🌸🤙🏼

This was super helpful. How do we know how long to measure out each string?
