@BoundFrnds some people find fb and bf knots more difficult to tie than other knots. Maybe it is that. In this case I would recommend practicing these knots specifically.

The pattern number you mentioned does not exist. I think you might have opened the pattern in the generator to add a variation/change the colours. If you did that there should be a message 'This pattern already exists as #, but can be added as its variation.' The # should tell you the real number of that pattern. The number you gave is just the number the pattern gets in the generator, not the actual number of the pattern. Could you tell me the actual number? I'd like to check it out to see, if there is something special about the pattern.

I just tried this technique and it may just be me, but my pattern came out wonky. The pattern that I was doing was 4229719. I added an extra sting on both sides and did my FB knots and BF knots, but the diamond shape doesn't come out like a diamond. Is it because the strings are being pulled into many directions?
By the way, the directions in the tutorial and notes and the visuals are spot on. Everything makes sense.... so thank you for breaking everything down. Most likely it's something that I'm doing or not doing. Any suggestions?

Thank you @halokiwi, this was an excellent tutorial, not least because it also gave some knotting tips like pulling down. Thank you!

@halokiwi thanks for your help! When I did alphas I only did one bf or fb only so that helped ty 😉

@jaz_rose I'd say you need to practice your bf and fb knots so they are more consistent, make sure you are not pulling the bracelet to either side while knotting and also making sure you always do 2 bf or fb knots if it's an alpha (in a normal it's just one).

@mireblue I recommend watching MashaKnots' video in the flat alpha technique. You can also read the tutorial on alphabet patterns by @Adik. The tutorial explains how you can do two-coloured alphas which is a technique you can use for the pattern you mentioned.

@halokiwi I forgot to mention it , the Alpha pattern is #56876, but in general I'm in doubt in how to start an alfa pattern.
