@Malloy89 have you knotted an alpha before? If no, I recommend checking out MashaKnots' video on the flat alpha technique. She explains how to knot an alpha in it.
If you have not knotted an alpha before, I recommend to first knot a smaller one and then come back to this one.
If you have knotted an alpha before and you are confident in your skills, I would say: go for it!
Based on the size, this pattern would be perfect as a wallhanging. To start it you take a wooden dowel or something similar and attach your base strings to it using lark's head knots.
@LadyViolet no, the dimensions refer to the amount of knots in the pattern. This pattern is 42 knots wide and 92 rows long. You can calculate the size of the pattern based on that if you have ever made an alpha before where you can meassure how high and wide a knot is for you usually 🙂
