I recommend doing the butterfly outline strings longer I'd say 1m (x4) should be perfect (I did 90cm and they were a bit too short) For the background 80cm (x10) I did about 75cm and they were fine but two on the edges were too short. For the butterfly color 90cm (x4) is definitely enough.
@lilly_g_s hi! i know im a bit late but i thought i could help. usually with normal patterns you cut them to about your wingspan's length, or about 3 feet. then youll fold them in half, the start knotting! if you ever need help definately check out the forum here on braceletbook, or just check youtube for lots of tutorials! happy knotting! ♡♡♡
@mialp26 i started with the white center and was able to segment knot it by the black outline as if you were to do chevron and meet in the middle. my row by row ones always look so awful, i get so lost lol
@GittyFRDMN I also have some individual variegated skeins by DMC, but my all time favorites are made by KreationKaos on Etsy! ❤️ Each skein is beautifully unique... keep in mind the rainbow types sell out quickly tho!
@okthais Thank you so much! It was from a variety pack of Prism Tie-Dye Floss, not very good quality, but I thought I'd try some as an experiment. I think it turned out ok but there's many other better quality threads out there! I had to cut a bit more than I actually needed though, because I folded it in half so that the gradient matched up exactly for all 4 strings. In the pattern, the fb and bf knots at the center of the wings helps to keep the colored strings knotted at the same rate so the gradient stays matched together 😊
