I started making bracelets only a couple months back but I started with alpha patterns and I've gotten quite good at them but this was my first time trying a normal pattern and it was hell. 😂 My alphas come out nice and straight but this one, no matter how well I followed the pattern it ends up with curves. Though the curves look cool, I can' figure out why this is happening. I also got confused a few times with taking aside the 2 end strings and putting them back in alternatively for each row. Also, it's hard to know or count the rows just by looking at the bracelet. With alpha patterns I can easily count my rows cause they are just, well, straight across but with normal patterns, I kept getting lost and it got worse when having to untie knots. I never could figure out what row I was on and my unties didn't seem even. Some seemed farther up than others. Anyways....I need to practice these quite a bit , lol.
How does it seem that some people tie their knots row after row, like from left to right on the first 6 rows and then from right to left on the next six rows and so on but on some of the pictures on here it seems as if they are tying diagonally. I don't know if I make sense but they seem to get each color out of the way by tying diagonally before going on to the next color.
You just follow the pattern- the colors will be different the second time around though. So use the knotting and ignore the colors the second time around for the pattern or something like that (I'm bad at explaining) @brookeh07
It's a really nice pattern; however, it did confuse me at first because the colors don't line up (beginning and end). I figured it out though. Thanks for making this cute, geometric pattern!
@Lost_Girl_ there are videos on YouTube explaining how to read normal friendship bracelet patterns (I recommend Masha Knots). They’ll explain it much better than I can
