I'm so sorry. I received a notification yesterday saying that my comment of "🤮" was removed from this pattern and wanted to let you know that I actually meant to say "😍" but the "🤮" emoji is right next to it and i must have hit 🤮 instead. Im so sorry. I really did not mean to say that. The pattern look super cool! Great job! @Odanak1811
@oceanknot you use the normal-part strings as base strings for the alpha, but in order to make the normal part just as wide I put a three pairs of base strings together (so I went from a 22-string normal to a 19 string alpha)
@mjlgvw Thanks for the advice! I’ve only done an alpha normal merge once, but I used a normal pattern with the same number of strings as the base strings and the edges weren’t completely straight, but I think it still turned out okay. You can see the final result in pattern #23322 .
@oceanknot what a lovely patterns you added today, that would make lovely #alphanormal bracelets! Thanks!
Keep in mind if you would actually like to make a combination bracelet you would pick a normal that has more strings than the alpha, since normals are less wide. I did two versions. One where I doubled up on base strings during the alpha part and the other where I made the alpha part shaped. I have photo tutorials on my IG highlights of both solutions.
If anyone wants to follow an actual starburst pattern and then just make the rose in the middle, I would recommend #34526 because it has the same number of strings, so you could use those as the base strings
