@sodapop okay thanks! I finished the first layer but found it quite small, maybe I tie my knots too tight. So im gonna do a second layer. I think i found a good tutorial! Thanks again!
@PotatoPeel I didn't follow a single tutorial. I skimmed through a few "macrame mandala flower" videos on YouTube and got the general idea and then just went with it! 😄
@Firecorn after you finish the first flower, you start the next chevrons in between where two petals come together. If you want to keep it flat, the knots in the outer edges of petals need to be really really loose otherwise it will naturally start to curve upwards like a bowl. I pinned my flower down on a foam macrame board to make it easier to keep control the shape and keep it flat. Then I finished each petal with normal triangle ends and wrapped with square knots 😊
@Chamelon I did make the bowl from the mandala flower. After you do that first row of petals (the chevron petals not the starting ones) I just added two more rows of petals and for finishing it I did row by row so that it was straight. The bowl will begin to curve naturally by it's self when you start doing the first row of extra petals. Hope this helped!!
@Sadie_04 no, this is not difficult. If you're on the website (not the app) you can see a video posted to this pattern that explains how it's done. If you only use the app you need to search "mandala flower" on YouTube to find a tutorial video.
