@jnoor1 it says that there are 14 strings because it counts all the base strings plus one leading string. so you'll need 13 base strings if you'd like to make this pattern. 🙂
@beep33 you could knot the background however you'd like, or even mix elements from other patterns. For example, the splash from #57403 could added this one and colored to look like mud 🙂
