@reese_elde Yes, it's an alpha and the setup is different than for normal patterns. You add separate colors of leading string onto a set of base strings (this one has 12) and you knot in rows straight across, and then back again. If you're viewing the website from a computer (not the app) you'll see an attached video at the top of the knot diagram (on every pattern page) called "How to Make Alphas"
@EmmaC43 This is a simple 4 strand round braid! I used two blue (bundles of) string, one orange and one red. Depending on which pair of strands you start with (blue and blue or blue and orange/red), the pattern of the final braid will look „twisty“ (like mine here) or straight (like I did with my version of #36405 - there should be a picture there). 4 strand round braids are easy to do and very sturdy, so I really like using them on my bracelets.
