@SeraFaith3 these types of "zigzag" patterns always have a tendency to get wavy, especially when segment-knotted on a diagonal. You could try knotting straight across, or add a border string to each side to give the edges a consistent knot structure.
Another work-around I've tried (if you have a foam macrame board or something similar) is to use a pin and stick it in between the knots at the points where the pattern tends to "suck inward" (like at the center of the triangles) and tug it outward and pin it in place so when you knot the following rows it stays put. So for string E, it's not used very often and can accidentally get pulled through the other knots, creating tension and pulling the sides inward at row 7, 21 and 28. The black strings at rows 13-15 could also do this if they get pulled too tight. Just make sure those areas have breathing room to stay out to the edge. 😊
I had problems with this pattern too. I segment knotted using a candy stripe (hope that makes sense lol) and it came out bumpy and wonky!!! I’ll have to look into the straight edges technique and re do this 😂
@halokiwi hi!! I love your work and most of your patterns are on my to do list!! I need to actually watch the video on segment knotting. What I do is I suppose a type of segment knotting because I don’t do left to right lines anymore I kinda go rogue. But now that you guys have mentioned it I’m gonna watch that masha knots vid. Thanks guys! @halokiwi@ToneTexas I love your pic! I hate the straight edge technique tho cause unless it’s a color you can weave in then the whole bracelet slips and slides on those edge threads cause it’s not anchored down...and for the colors I used I didn’t have enough thread to add in 2 extra...I will try the segment thing tho; thanks again !!
@moxie, I’m not sure if this makes sense, but I looked for the candy stripes in the patterns and tried segment knot based on that with a few exceptions. Also using the straight edge technique helped me. See my other comment and my photo.
@sodapop I will have to make this sometime! 🙂 I really find this pattern appealing to the eye. 😄 I think will have to make it after a make another heart bracelet. 😛 I think, that it would be a great idea to make a series of gradient collection. 😉 I love your patterns! 😊 ❤️ 😍 @ToneTexas I love your photo! Did you do segment knotting? 🤔 😊 ❤️
