@Stellknots no, i don't think so (at least I haven't seen one) but you can always just choose a different color to replace the checker bit each time you come across it!
@Fanta_973 i cut a piece of embroidery floss and took out three strings. then i folded it in half and did a larks head knot on the keychain (the same way you attach the base threads) then i threaded the beads on the string (through both halves for a total of 6 strings bc you have three on one side) once all the beaded were added i tied a knot at the bottom and cut off the excess string. i hope this helps! if not please feel free to ask more questions!
