@rudamalpa this is an alpha pattern. For the leading strings I recommend to just leave them on the skein and cut them in the end. For the base strings you need the length of the bracelet plus some extra for ties, loop etc. If you've made an alpha before, you can measure how long a certain amount of rows is in it and then use it to calculate how long this pattern will be for you 🙂
After falling back into friendship bracelets this year, I discovered alpha patterns and this happened to be the first one I made. Learned a lot of things and enjoyed the process so much, I made an account to share my work!
Thanks @sodapop! Yeah, I was a little frustrated that anything over 12-14 string width was just sooo wide. And half the string is still really sturdy (AND you use less string as well). I wear the smaller one everyday 🥰
@AmzgAndrea I always admire your creativity and perfect execution! It's really interesting seeing the two sizes side by side, what a great solution! 😍 🙌 ❤️
Been wanting to make this for a while now. But after I finished it was just WAY too LONG 😢 I'm still debating as to if I'll turn it into a headband or maybe a choker style necklace..... However I really wanted a bracelet so I remade it by halving the strings (using 3 strands instead of 6). It was a little tricky to get the new knot tension down but I love how the second one turned out! 😍
@Klariro you already got a reply but in case it was this what you were wondering about: all alpha patterns give an amount of strings that is one higher than the amount of base strings because it counts one leading string in addition to the base strings.
Thanks @Klariro I'm not sure why I made it with 19 strings... I could have accidentally deleted a row or misjudged the dimensions before submitting😅 I think it would be better as 20 strings with the extra one added on to the right side 👍😇
Oh wait, I remember! At the time I thought it was easier to use the beginning part of the leading string as an odd base string so it would automatically be attached when starting the knots. 🙈😂
