@chocochip I am going to try and explain how i did mine to help you… hopefully. i did the flat alpha technique, which is instead of doing forward knots and backwards knots on each end you do a forward backward/backward forward knot at the end of each row. Make sure you do both bf/fb knots twice (i didn’t do that my first few times doing this technique and it made my bracelets wonky). Also i did a tension relieving technique to help keep the knots flat. If you want a visual then go look at masha_knots instagram post where she speed knots the cactus bracelet. I will also try to explain it now. So when you are making a color switch you need to take the string/color you just used and put it on top of the bracelet instead of underneath it. Then you should take your new color from behind the bracelet and do half of one knot. Now take your previous color string and bring it over your current base string ( under your current leading string) and behind the rest of your base strings. finally finish your knot by making the other half of your knot and it should hide your previous color string you just moved. If this doesn’t make sense i will make a tutorial in the forums with pictures but please let me know 😁
@maggotknot so...follow-up. It took me like 2 hours to do 3 rows. And they’re not good rows, either. They’re all bumpy and won’t lay flat and it looks awful. It’s embarrassing. I don’t want to just give up, but I also used my cheap strong for the bases for this because I didn’t want to waste it, so they snap really easily. I’m afraid if I I start undoing the knots it’ll fray the strings so much and just end up destroying the whole thing. So, as horrible as it sounds, I might have to...undo it.
