@MJ__knots I made it 104 strings wide, which is the original size (104x96). I only changed parts of Appa, so it was the same width, just slightly shorter in height (mine was 86 knots tall I think). I think it ended up being about 16 cm wide but I could be very wrong, I gave it away as a gift or else I’d measure it lol. hope this was helpful!
@BrinJ Thanks! And yep! I’m not sure how many skeins, but I had to go to the store like three times because I kept running out due to my misjudgment of how much I’d need 😂😂
@Augusta22 thank you!! I was working on it for about 3-4 weeks. I tried to make progress whenever I had free time, but I’m not sure how many hours I actually spent on it. I realized afterwards I should’ve timed it just to see but I sadly didn’t
Instead of making them as tight as can be, I simply make sure there isn’t any slack between the last knot and the current one I’m making. I’ve actually discovered that making my knots super tight squashes them and makes them taller than they are wide, so I don’t normally recommend making them as tight as possible. I use the flat alpha technique, of which Masha Knots has a video about. I also use the straight edges technique, which I think she might have a video on, and there’s also a tutorial here on bracelet book as well. Other than that, I just practice. Choosing larger patterns definitely helps you do just that, and also get a feel for what is too tight or too loose, allowing you understand your personal knotting style. I hope this helps!
@Clairibee Finished making this pattern this week! Just added a picture and currently waiting for it to be accepted. I actually squished parts of your original pattern a bit (specifically Appa and a few rows of the sun), only because my finished projects tend to be stretched vertically due to my knots being taller than they are wide. I’m not reposting it anywhere, it was simply a gift for my boyfriend and I wanted to make sure it didn’t look too stretched. I still give you full credit; I just wanted to let you know this! I appreciate your pattern so thank you!! 😊
