I would recommend tying simple vs until the middle, then do the fish once and continue with vs. The amount of vs given in the pattern might not be the amount that fits you perfectly.
this is the first bracelet that i'd ever made. at first it looked pretty bad but i kept making the same pattern over and over again and now is my favorite one to make. i have the red-black-white and gray-black-white ones but each of my friends have one with different colors made by me (:
