@juliannagh I wouldn’t because it can be really hard to work with super long strings. I’d cut it around your arm span when they’re all the way out. If you run out, you are able to add more in with ease, you do it the same way that you add the colors in the beginning! I hope this helps!
@emilyjust otherwise, I would watch a MarshaKnots tutorial on YouTube. She does a great job explaining it! I also watched this girl do a shark bracelet, but I cannot for the life of me remember her name! Just look up shark alpha bracelet tutorial, and you should be able to find it! Good luck, and happy knotting!!!
@emilyjust Best way I can explain it, is there are the base strings, and then there are the strings that you add in. In this pattern, you can see there are 5 base strings. You lay those out vertically and tape them down securely. Then, you see at the top that your first color you add in is blue. You take that blue string, tape it next to the bracelet, and do a forward knot. Since you are changing colors for the next string, you will take your blue string and tuck it under all of your base strings, and to the right, since you are knitting towards the right side. Next, you see the next color is white. You do the same thing. Tape it next to the bracelet, and do a forward knot. Tuck this string under, and move on to the next. When you get to the fifth and final knot, you will be ready to move to the second row. This second row will be the same process, except the knots are backwards, and since you are moving to the left this time, you tuck your string to the left.
