@BeautifulB My suggestion would be to make a couple practice alphas. Use your ugly colors or shorter scraps for the base strings and just start with 1 color to find your rhythm making consistent knots. Then practice adding in new colors. Pay attention to how you lay the strings and make sure unused colors don't peek into the front when it's not their turn. Really it's all about practicing your technique. With my first alphas, I spent more time undoing knots with a pin than actually knotting rows and making progress. Basically practice a lot, keep your strings organized and don't make your knots too tight. Too much tension can distort the shape. 🙂 👍
@BeautifulB I’ve just started making alphas. I’m working on my second ever and I’ve learned quickly you need to NOT BE LAZY when switching strings. I made my life a lot harder when I wasn’t being careful. Watch Mashaknots video about alphas to see how she manages switching colors and makes sure they don’t tangle. This might be obvious but man I was being sloppy with that part and suffering
