The antennas and feet are supposed to be knotted as loops. carinio.art.knots on Instagram has posted a video in which she knots a borzoi dog with ears that she made of loops. This pattern is inspired by that and intended to be knotted the same way.
For this pattern you need 16 base strings (2 more than you would need for just the body. For the right most and the left most base string you use 2 base strings. When you get to the point where you need to do the feet or antennas you use one of those strings as the base for the loop. You knot the loop like you would knot a regular starting loop or how you would knot the chain part in a daisy chain bracelet: you just make bf or fb knots onto the base string until it reaches the desired length.
